My extensive personal and professional experiences and educational training, as well as my navigation through personal hardships, informs my work as a somatic psychotherapist.
I am a Somatic (body-centered) and Trauma Therapist in Boulder, Colorado. I hold a Master’s Degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University with a concentration in Body Psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy. I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and am trained in EMDR Therapy and Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT)- Level II. I have also received additional trainings in Compassionate Communication, Existential Psychotherapy, Relational Life Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Throughout my practice, I have worked with and supported adults who experience depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, other trauma-related issues, and substance and behavioral addictions. I am committed to helping individuals and couples thrive and collaborate with them to figure out how to break unhealthy patterns to improve their lives and relationships. I help people examine, evaluate and evolve beyond their limitations, fears, and circumstances and develop secure healthy relationships.
After earning my Master’s, I completed an extensive licensing process of 2,000 hours of supervised clinical practice and a licensing exam. I worked as a primary therapist at an inpatient addiction center where I facilitated group and individual therapy with people experiencing a wide variety of addictions, diagnoses and mental health issues.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Outdoor Experiential Education. After graduation, I led adolescents on global adventure trips and worked alongside therapists who led wilderness trips for youth suffering from mental health and addiction issues.
My journey to become a somatic psychotherapist developed from being faced with adversity through family addiction, deep loss and experiencing developmental, emotional, and physical traumas. I have had the privilege to access my own healing through nature, education, personal movement practices as a dancer and avid outdoor adventurer, as well as through mindfulness, meditation, and body-centered psychotherapies.
I now have a deep understanding of my story and witness my darkest moments as my greatest life teachers and gifts. I am moved to be an avenue for others to reunite with their story and discover their wholeness and uniqueness.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet and support you in this way!
